July 28, 1828
This land grant, warrant number 1910, from the State of Tennessee to Memucan H. Howard and John C. McLemore on March 15, 1825. This grant was one of three Fayette County grants given to Howard. McLemore was one of Howard’s land surveying partners from 1822 to 1832 as written by Howard in “Recollections of Tennessee”. Eight acres in Fayette were granted on the 24th of July, 1828.
This document was used to corroborate that Howard was working with McLemore on surveying land in Western Tennessee, the year of this land grant does indeed corroborate with the time period which Howard stated he worked with McLemore.
