Memucan Hunt Howard Buys Land from Sam Houston

This document chronologies the details of a transaction between Memucan Hunt Howard and Sam Houston along with one of Memucan’s companions, John C McLemore. In this document, Memucan and McLemore are buying land from Sam Houston, in which they had received together, one third of part of the acreage ten miles below Grand Saline on the East side of Neosho.
We used this document to catalog the business transactions of Memucan Hunt Howard as well as keep tabs on his accumulation of material wealth. This also corroborated the relationship between Howard and McLemore which is noted in “Recollections."
