Grant of land for Hardeman County to Howard
August 28, 1826
This document is one of four Hardeman County, Tennessee land grants, warrant number 23381, with the recipient of Memucan H. Howard. He was granted two hundred seventy four acres of land in western Tennessee(Hardeman County) for surveying land in the same region. This land was given on August 28th, 1826.
We used this in the biography when listing the amount of landed granted in counties including Hardeman, Fayette and Lauderdale. We used this to show that Howard was given land for his surveying expeditions and to corroborate with “Recollections of Tennessee” which broadly stated that he was given land after surveying with his uncle.
