First Land Grant by the State of Tennessee to Howard

This document is one of the four land grant from the county of Hardeman, Tennessee, warrant number 23895, to Memucan H. Howard. One hundred and two acres of land was granted on the 24th of November, 1824.
This this document was utilized to provide information concerning land Howard was given due to his surveying expeditions in western Tennessee. This is a direct source to support Howard’s claim that he was granted land as a main provision for his surveying career.
