Memucan Hunt Howard Gains a Measly 33 Acres from TN
november 20, 1838
This document is a land grant for thirty three acres in Lauderdale, Tennessee for Memucan H. Howard. This grant was given on the 20th of November 1838.
This is another of the many land grants given to Howard in his sixteen years of land surveying, and we used it in the biography to corroborate the large mass of land Howard was granted by the government from the surveying and selling for profit. This grant in particular shows that Memucan was still gaining land after his surveying career, as he retired from surveying in 1836, but the land was granted in 1838.
